Test of two wheelchair designs

We are currently helping Alu-Rehab test their wheelchair product, Netti Dynamic. They have developed a unique wheelchair system that allows freedom of movement for the wheelchair user, by making the backrest flexible. This may help the user to return to a good seating position after a spasm has occurred, compared to a normal static wheelchair system.

We tailored our analysis to measure the effect of the dynamic system compared to a static system. To assess the effect, we measured the slip-distance between the back and the backrest on the wheelchair after a spasm has occured. We also measured the force that occurs during a spasm on the backrest and seat cushion.
